 Area 51 Tall Tales Contest Results
Let's
congratulate our two representatives, TM Monobe and TM Ono, who placed 2nd and 3rd among seven talented speakers held on Sept. 27th in Iwakuni City. The 1st place award was captured by TM Vanwey from Iwakuni TC.

After chartered as an official club of Toastmasters International onf May 16, 2002, our club has been becoming bigger and bigger.

\ Toastmasters is...
an international organization that has been assisting people in improving their communication skills since 1924 when the first Toastmasters club was established in Santa Ana, California. The usefulness and effectiveness of the Toastmasters program was quickly and widely recognized, and more clubs were formed.  On Sept, 12, 2009, HTC held their first in-house contest.
Speech topic: Tall Tales, a 3-5 minute speech which speakers stretched the truth. Congratulations to our 5 contestants: TM Fujiyama, TM Hanamoto, TM Monobe, TM Ono and TM Sato, for many entertaining speeche.
TM Monobe captured 1st place, with her comedic story about an amazing transformation. TM Ono came in 2nd with a speech about her eye opening trip abroad. The two of them will move on to compete in Iwakuni.

Area 51 Joint Meeting

On Saturday, July 25th, members from 4 Area 51 clubs joined together for a wonderful event. Moderated by TM Matsuda, we were delighted with the talents of speakers from Aki, Iwakuni, Quantum, and HTC. Participants also got to watch TM Hisamitsu, one of the many successful speakers from Hiroshima demonstrate her skills of public speaking.
Division E Officers Training in Hiroshima
On February 27, 2007, HTC held a Division E Officers Training in cooperation with OPM Toastmasters Club. 47 attendees included IP District Governor, Ohmach, LGET, Mohri, 2003-2004 District Governor, Inatsugi,  and officers from Kyusyu. It was a great oppotunity for all the participants to deepen understanding of officers roles and to strengthen friendships with other clubs.



TM Fujiyama Won the All Japan Championship 2006

"Hiroshima Toastmasters Club did it again. TM Setsuko Fujiyama, our club representative and one of the two contestants from the Division D (all Chugoku and Kyushu areas), was the winner at the District 76 or all Japan Toastmasters English Speech Contest held in the Awaji Island on Sunday, May 14. With her forceful and touching message delivered in her passionate manner, she emerged as 2006 all Japan Champion out of the 8 contestants that included 4 Japanese and 4 native English speakers from all over Japan. TM Fujiyama will proceed to the Toastmasters Inter-District Contest to be held in Washington D.C. in August. Last year, TM Chika Hisamatsu won thechampionship as the representative of Hiroshima Toastmasters Club and competed in the Inter-District Contest held in Toronto, Canada, as the very first representative from Japan to compete in such international contests.

22 members from Hiroshima Toastmasters Club and OPM Club in Hiroshima wereo n the spot to witness TM Fujiyama's outstanding performance to their utmost happiness and excitement."



2006 Division D Speech Contest

On April 22nd, HTC hosted 2006 Division D Speech Contest at the HIroshima City Internatinal House. Our representative TM Fujiyama  won the second prize with her inspiring speech 'Disabled'. She will proceed to the District 76 Speech Contest to be held in Awaji Island on May 14th.

TM Hisamatsu Won the All Japan Championship

TM Chika Hisamatsu, our Vice President Education, won the first prize at the District 76 (All Japan) Speech Contest in National Olympics Memorial Youth Center in Yoyogi, Tokyo on May 22, 2005. She will proceed to the Inter District Speech Contest to be held in Toronto, Canada on August 23.!!

NHK Covers HTC

HTC was featured on TV by the NHK on May 26, 2005. The eight minutes programme vividly portraited our highly lively and cheerful regular meeting. The great publicity made another mile stone in the history of HTC celebrating the club's third anniversary in full flourish.
